3 Ways Simply the Basics Supports Nonprofits, Schools, and Our Community
As a nonprofit hygiene bank, Simply the Basics understands the critical role that hygiene plays in people's lives, especially those who are experiencing homelessness or living with limited income. We also understand the time and resources that organizations who supporting those in our community spend while trying to obtain and manage these essential supplies. Our staff at Simply the Basics has collectively worked in homelessness services for over 14 years, working directly with those experiencing homelessness in shelters and drop in centers, so we have seen and experienced some of these organizational challenges ourselves. In order for our neighbors in need to reach their goals, we also need staff and programs who support those individuals to be successful. That's why we're passionate about supporting other nonprofits to reach their missions through our three unique programs:
Hygiene Bank Receiving Site Partners
Our Hygiene Bank program is designed to support nonprofits that provide direct services to people in need, such as shelters, drop in centers, medical clinics, school, libraries, and community centers. These sites are called “Receiving Site Partners”. By partnering with us, these organizations can receive hygiene products of their choice at no cost, helping them stretch their budgets and time further and better serve their clients.
Hygiene Locator™
Our Hygiene Locator is a web-based map that connects people in need with hygiene resources in their communities. Nonprofits can use this tool to help their clients locate nearby hygiene banks, as well as other organizations that offer hygiene services, such as showers and laundry facilities. Nonprofits who collect and distribute hygiene care can sign up directly on the Hygiene Locator to have their organization listed on the Hygiene Locator. Being listed helps bring further awareness of the organization, helps donors find their organization to donate the supplies they need, and help further their impact by allowing more individuals to find their services.
SB Hygiene Bank Association™
Simply the Basics Hygiene Bank Association is designed for hygiene banks interested in connecting, elevating their programs, and furthering public health through shared data and advocacy. As host of the SBHBA, we provide resources, on-demand webinars, member only events with experts in the field, and grant opportunities to help hygiene banks grow their programs, including guidance on fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and inventory management.
Through these three programs, we're proud to support other nonprofits in our shared goal to improve hygiene access and enhance the health and dignity of people in need.
